On Friday 31st May, Farnham Street held an Iftar dinner for the friends and family of all our participants, Muslim and non Muslim alike.
As you probably all know, our Muslim community has been fasting during the time of Ramadan, and each evening when the sun has set, Iftar is the meal that Muslims have to break their fast. It was very enjoyable. We had a guest speaker, Isabel Jackson, the Imam from North Melbourne, Mohammed Hersi also spoke. He spoke about the difference between being a Muslim and the religion of Islam. This was followed by eating dates to break the fast, prayers and then some great food brought by our students and other participants here.
