Certificate in English as an Additional Language

Learn to speak, read and write English in a formal classroom environment.

Classes meet four times per week, Monday to Friday.


EAL Pathways

All new learners are supported into their studies at FSNLC through a comprehensive interview and orientation process to encourage inclusion and participation. Program introduces them to a variety of experiences to encourage participation in a formal learning environment.

English Conversation and Literacy Skills for Speakers of Other Languages

Develop speaking, listening and language skills at a weekly conversation class. Includes advice on the best language learning pathway for you. Anyone is welcome to come along.

Avondale Heights - Tuesday and Wednesday 1pm-3pm

Flemington Library - Thursdays 10am - 12pm

Moonee Ponds- Mondays and Fridays 10am - 12pm


Literacy Workshop

For English as an Additional Language (EAL) learners and early school leavers who need to improve their literacy skills including: spelling, grammar, punctuation, sentence construction and writing fluency.

Flemington Library - Thursdays 12.30pm- 2.30pm

Writing and Illustrating a Children’s Book

A practical project-based course designed to take you through the stages of planning, writing and illustrating a children’s picture book. During the course, you will develop story ideas, create original characters, construct a storyboard and work on techniques for final artwork.

Dates: starting from 22nd August

Times: evenings 7 - 9pm

Cost: $40 conc or $70 full fee
