Moonee Valley Community Vision

The City of Moonee Valley are asking residents to share your long-term vision for the city.

This by filling in a survey or taking part in the online discussion forum. This community discussion is called Moonee Valley Next Generation 2035.

A community vision is a look into the future. This shared vision will represent the values and priorities of local residents, students, workers and businesses. It will provide directions we can all work towards for a healthy, sustainable, successful community. It will be the basis to develop a long-term community plan.

Sunbury Citizen Advocacy website launched

The new Sunbury Citizen Advocacy website was launched on 27 April.

Sunbury Citizen Advocacy co-ordinator David Abela said the website would create new opportunities for the group: "Because we are based in Sunbury and work across all of Hume, the website gives people access in the whole area and outside it. It's available 24 hours, seven days a week, whereas before we just relied on doing talks to groups and public speaking."

Elizabeth Lynch was the lead editor for the Citizen Advocacy Sunbury & Districts website working on the project as part of her Farnham Street webdesign course. Elizabeth is a well known Farnham Street success story and has been featured in the media before because of to her accomplishments in design and web publishing.

Farnham Street is very pleased to have assisted another community group to reach a significant web presence. We congratulate Elizabeth and all the members, staff and volunteers at Sunbury Citizen Advocacy.

Fantastic trip to Hanging Rock

On Wednesday 21 March we had a fantastic day trip to Hanging Rock.

Everybody from Farnham Street Learning Center went. We hired a bus and three mini buses to take us there.

It was a good opportunity to get all the students and teachers together and discover a new nature landscape.

Then we walked up the rock together it was arduous and uplifting. Finally we took a photo together and got on the buses to go home.

Everybody was tired but happy. Undoubtedly, it was one of the most striking trips I have had. I’ll be cheerful if we have such a trip again.
